The Vector Luna Smart Watch (prices vary) is a cooler answer (in our opinion, anyway) to the techie watch craze. Mostly for men, or women who prefer to wear a man's watch, there are options from rugged to refined and alerts you to emails and texts without turning to Apple.
The women’s answer to the Apple Watch, The Ringly ring ($195) lets her know when she gets a call, email or text and comes in a variety of beautiful stones and settings.
These ultra chic Frends Layla Leather headphones ($150) are really comfortable and come in awesome colors – rose gold and white, iridescent or black and gold. You can also answer your phone with them.
I have known Jennifer Fisher, the designer of her eponymous jewelry line, Jennifer Fisher Jewelry, for many, many years. When we first met, she was just starting out and I was always so in awe of her talent and her drive. Plus, I thought her jewelry was some of the most incredible work I had ever seen. Today, she is wildly successful, that drive having put her in the center of every design map in the world. She has won CFDA awards, can be seen on the necks, ears, fingers and wrists of some the biggest celebs (Rihanna and Taylor Swift ...) and has an Instagram account that is truly envy-making. Oh, and did I mention that she's gorgeous? Her jewelry, though, is the thing. It's edgy and cool and so incredibly wearable. I have one of her charm necklaces that I built for myself at least 10 years ago, and that I wear every single day of my life. I have never gotten more attention for anything else I have ever worn (or not worn) and every piece of hers manages to go as well with a t-shirt as it does with a ball gown. Her prices are staggering, but if you're going to splurge, this is the place to do it.
Last year, on my annual girls trip to Tulum, one of my friends came to breakfast layered in Kim Clary's brass, beaded, leather, stone and venetian glass necklaces. I was struck by the perfection of it all, especially sitting there in the sand, eating huevos rancheros and listening to the sound of the waves crashing just a few feet away. Yep, these necklaces (and bracelets, too) are the stuff Bohemian beach jewelry dreams are made of. Perfect for a bikini or a summer dress, buy many and layer, layer, layer. Kim doesn't have a website, and she's based in Colorado, but you can cruise her Pinterest board and then email her directly to order your pieces.
More talk about layering. I ran into these watches at a popup shop in the Time Warner Center and fell madly in love. My daily watch is a "gold" Swatch (which is also really awesome, by the way - you can see it here but it does look better in person), and I love it, but these from Sara Designs are just incredibly fun. In the same vein as the Kim Clary beaded necklaces, this range of watches is all about layered arm candy, with pieces made from leather, stone, crystal, beads and metals.Taking her design inspo from the beach, no two are the same (I guess like grains of sand?), and they will all make your look instantly chic and relaxed. No better way to tell time.
